Scarlet Light
Kerridan Taylor wants nothing
more than to travel Ionica as his father's Supreme Commander. But when his
Dictator father, Maverick Taylor, decides to abdicate the throne, Kerridan is
called home to see if he is worthy of the powerful position being handed to
him. What he doesn't expect is to meet Scarlette, a prisoner in his father's
dungeon. Scarlette is a dedicated Follower of The Zealot and a firm believer in
The Light, who has spent most of her seventeen years in prison.
But an evil has come over
Ionica that no army can stop and no man can fight alone, The Haze. This illness has begun to take over the land,
and the country's leaders have fallen victim to it one by one until only Kerridan
is left.
Will Kerridan learn to believe in The Light as Scarlette
does, or will he too be lost to The Haze forever?
Reader's Recommendations: Scarlet Light
“I was so caught up in Scarlet Light!
It is amazing! The way Kerridan argues with himself is funny and interesting at
the same time. My younger sister was worried about me, because I was so excited
that I kept forgetting to breathe.”

“The message of Scarlet
Light really touched my heart. The power of the Light and the Darkness is
portrayed in a real, relatable way. When I first read this book, I couldn’t put
it down. The characters are authentic, many leaving you with no choice but to
fall in love with them. Not only does it have a page turning plot, it leaves
readers with food for thought. Often I’ve found myself coming back to the
simple, yet significant lessons taught in these pages.”

“Scarlet Light is truly original
and it takes a compelling, fresh perspective on giving our lives to
Christ...and holding our lives back from Christ. This story helped remind me of
two things: the power of Satan, and the stronger power of Christ. I love the
characters and depth of emotion--there were times at the end when I was
shaking. Scarlet Light speaks of real pain. I highly recommend it, especially
if you are not disturbed by spiritual warfare."

Beautiful Scars
What is there left to
say?
Life brings pain.
Sometimes that pain is so deep, so constricting
we feel like we’re being choked from the inside out.
And we are.
My name is Sarah.
Like you, the world
tried to break me.
The world killed me.
Sarah is an
adolescent, living the average life of a child stuck in the middle of a
divorce. She hasn’t seen her father since she was a little girl, and life is
hitting her hard as she struggles through the realm of the “teenage world”.
At the age of
nine, she began her career of carving hate into her arms to cover up the pain
the world sent her way. After all, it’s better to cover up the hurt than to let
everyone watch you drowning in it.
Eventually Sarah
must decide, will she drown herself in her own blood, or will she drown herself
in the love of someone so much bigger than her circumstances?
“Beautiful Scars takes a very personal and very relatable approach to carving. This book
is an excellent portrait of the beauty Christ sees in our brokenness. It really
shows us that with each step in life, no matter how painful our 'memory lane'
is, or our past scars and regrets are, they are healed and wholly loved through
the power of Christ Jesus. Beautiful Scars isn't just about our pain,
it's about identity; and it truly helped me rediscover mine.”

“This is a real story of real hurt, of real healing. If you or someone you love has experienced pain like Sarah's, may the understanding and reality of this story comfort you. If you haven't experienced this pain, read so that you may understand the truth of self-harm. Whether Beautiful Scars will give you a glimpse into other peoples' lives, or your own, it will stay with you.”

“One of the most
compelling aspects to this piece is just how remarkably relevant it is to
today’s youth. It effectively serves as both a dark commentary on the tragedy
of self-abuse, as well as an inspirational look into the author’s own
experiences and testimony. It’s not just another piece of “teen angst” driven
nonsense, like a lot of youth fiction on the market today. It’s ultimately a
story of hope, in a setting of seemingly utter hopelessness and misery. Much
like this life. Without the hope of life everlasting, what do we have to live
for? Beautiful Scars is a refreshing change of pace.”
